The “Dreams of Mouron” project is a unique collaboration between Swiss artist Didier Mouron and American film composer Don Harper.
The live music with art performances combine the intricate art of Mouron in-the-round with a live chamber orchestra that surrounds the audience and immerses them in a continuing kaleidoscope of musical themes and textures.
In Don Harper’s musical creation, each musician has choice of placement and variation of the theme and motif, which is inspired by each piece of art, thus creating a unique musical “story” in every performance. As the audience is free to move about the gallery, each geographic location provides a new perspective in sight and sound.
Inspired by the Didier Mouron pieces, five paintings have been carefully selected for this unique project. This website is a demonstration of how these separate musical inspirations combine in various ways as you move through Didier Mouron's gallery. The “Dreams of Mouron” project was created as a live performance piece, but we hope that this virtual representation gives you an sense of the possibilities.
